"BOO!"?
Greetings to you. I remember a somewhat arduous study on the ability of worms to regenerate lost appendages at a very prestigious university's Dept. of Anthropology. I received a call asking that I assist in this study. Our discussions sometimes went from invertebrate to vertebrate, (or beast to man) and how similar our bodily functions are. One member of the staff often attempted to mix secular fact with religious thought. The most interesting topic that we pondered that has defied anthropological (and most other) explanation is the apparent existence of *EVIL* in the world and mankind. Evil cannot be seen, measured, touched, or smelled. It is neither liquid, solid or gas. If Evil does exist, where did it come from and can it be differentiated from our natural processes? If not *WHY?* Well, If you are looking for an answer to this question, you can stop now, because there is no apparent one,......one that is not *supernatural* that is.
"What Evil Does"
We see the results of Evil everywhere: Murder, Rape, Pillage War, Greed, Envy, Gluttony, Lies, Robbery, Drunkenness, Pride, Slothfulness, and Child Molestation, etc. and yes....Back Stabbing! It seems to come *naturally*. But wait one moment, we might just be born that way if you believe in the accuracy and inerrancy of the Bible (Rev13: 9) which tells us to count the number of the beast for it is the number of a *MAN* which is six hundred three score and six (KJV). That is...666! Now my dear readers as you all know by now I am a Chemist.... So: All of life on earth is *Carbon* based (that's organic chemistry) including *ALL* men and women. The Carbon Atom has 6 electrons, 6 Neutrons and 6 Protons! Now that adds up to our 666 right? So is man himself *The Essence of Evil....The Devil?*.....But hold on there may be something out there more terrifying than this thought, and that my dear is.....*TIME*!
*TIME*
Time (eventually) destroys all of our hopes, dreams, and accomplishments. It tears apart our beauty appearance, kills all of our loved ones and leaves empty cars in the driveway, and empty chairs at the dinner table "The Cattle on a Thousand Hills" are suddenly masterless, it disintegrates our education and turns us into meaningless dust! As I said before, it cannot be seen, measured, tasted, or touched. Just when you know more than you ever have, just when you own more than you have ever owned, at your "zenith" it cuts you down like a dog. Once you were beautiful or handsome....and now...... It is merciless and always with you until the end. For sure this is "The Demon of Demons". But you say "how can this be?" You have already shown that *life* itself may be the Devil! Well,...not entirely, look here...One minute= 60 sec. One hour= 60 Minutes, One day=24 Hours, 2+4= 6.This is your "Real 666!"..... *Time* is the Devil! And it's evil as hell!
*WHAT CAN I DO?*
First of all don't go around thinking that you have *Time* to accomplish all those things that are important to you. One of the most difficult things in life to internalize is how little *Time* one has to develop, establish, and maintain lasting careers and relationships. Go ahead and accomplish them now! And if you can't, don't beat up on yourself, two of life's greatest imposters are *success and failure*. Count your blessings and remember that the best use of *Time* is to spend it on things that out last it like family and friends. In the end, all that is left is love, and *love* is all that really matters.
